Graphic Novels (reading and hopefully creating), Movies, Music
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
Grew up in a Christian home, but just sort of cruised by in my faith. I went to art school, but then got a job in the web industry so put my comic creating dreams aside. A few months ago I started getting the itch to create again. I got a new sketchbook and blue pencils and started sketching, and as always started working on a story idea. I had no intention of doing a Christian based comic, but as I started to work on a story My faith worked its way into the story. And without giving anything away about the story, some elements in the story I compared to my own life and realized...Wow I am really slacking in my walk with Jesus. And now hand in hand my drive to get back into creating a comic has awoken a hunger for God's word like never before. I plan on starting a Web comic with Christian themes VERY soon and pray that God uses the story to his glory. Wherever he wants the story to go is OK with me. I pray that as I grow in the Word, and in Christ's Love and Wisdom, it will show in my story and hopefully impact others. I pray that any work I do will be a ministry for Christ, and point in some way to the gospel. I wanted to see what else Christians were doing comic related so a simple google search brought me to this site. I promptly signed up hoping to be influenced by others. There is strength in numbers.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I want to be an independent creator. Write my own stories and do my own art. I wouldn't be opposed to collaborating, I just have no interest in making comics unless its exactly what I want to be making.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Criag Thomson, Kazu Kibuishi

Are we eating our vegetables?

Posted on September 25, 2012 at 5:42pm 2 Comments

Too often with our creative works we want to skip the vegetables and jump right to the meat and potatoes. Or even straight to desert.

I want to urge you to eat the appropriate vegetables every day because they will make you big and strong!

Artists, are you spending time with your sketchbook every day? Writers, do you spend time doing creative writings?

Trust me; no one needs to hear this more than myself! But as a community I would like to challenge you to keep on eating…

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

Nathan, Thanks for the quick and accurate feedback.  I was tired when I posted it. I noticed the short legs and posture on Abalon and thought, "what the heck. I'll post it with a critique request and see what I get."  Honest and accurate feedback is worth gold; thank you Bro!

Hadn't noticed, but yeah, Death is looking a little anemic.  I'll give him an infusion of darkness before I repost this piece.  Again thanks for the quick feedback!!

I am not a comic artist; however, I am a poet who considers himself an artist of poetry. I specialize in poetry with a Christian message covering a wide range of our human experience. Recently, I have embarked on the endeavor of starting a home-based specialty greeting cards company.   My cards are rooted in the scripture Deut: 22:10 "Don't plow with a donkey and oz tied together." It is an unequally yoked message. My cards are for people that are unequally yoked. There are hundreds of situations that causes couples to break-up but it more often is rooted in their being a mismatch or UNEQUALLY YOKED.

I am seeking a cartoonist who can brand my cards with a donkey (the female) and an ox (the male) to fit the poetic inscriptions (often humorous) written inside the cards. Basically the one or the other partner to the relationship is telling the other that they should not stay together because they're such misfits.
