This was an experiment with making the very fast software Painter Essentials 4 which feels a bit too organic? (layers stack in color strength even though opacity strength is low). Speed wise and Painting wise, it's cool software, and the layers gave me the capability to do this. What was involved was creating on the non-locked layers above the canvas layer, numbering the layers as I created them, adjusting opacity to use as a reference for the next layer, readjusting the opacity for the organic issues, then copy and 'new from clipboard' in preview, saving them as bitmaps, then importing an image for each new keyframe, adjusting individual key frames speed to increase text impact, and eventually settling on a 14 fps speed instead of 12 fps to make the book opening a little more interesting. Outside of an export layer as image command, or working directly in an animation program, there appears to be no faster way of doing things. Ultimately it is the last step, and on this computer, Painter Essentials 4 runs as fast as application in real life with my bamboo tablet, so creation wise in the future a lot of time could be saved. I did create a movie of images in Quicktime Pro ( v 7.6.x )... but unlike Pencil, I didn't have individual frame timing control. While you need to resave the exported movie from Pencil to Quicktime to save again for a reference image on the front of the video when not playing, Quicktime doesn't need more use than that for me right now.

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.
Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”
