Hmm, a hero as in the main "good" character in a comic? I guess it depends how the writer/creator of the comic to relate to that character. Is the Hero the embodiment of what we strive to be or is he/she on the journey to becoming so?

The hero of the comic I'm currently working on is the former. Captain Orange makes all the "right" decisions and doesn't seem to have to question what his goals are. At least that's how I'm trying to portray him. :p

The main character in Everette Paul Burris's Spiritman seems to be learning as he goes. He's very introspective and carries the reader through his thoughts and struggles. It makes his character a bit more relatable than the perfect Hero. In the end, thought, I think he is going to fulfill all the previously posted criteria. ;)

1. A strong moral compass not easily swayed by others---this is the difference between a leader and a follower. 2. Persistence/perseverance, and (if it is for creating fictional heroes) 3. Likeability--make them funny, slightly flawed, relate-able in some way.
