1500 Kids Meet Captain Sun!

So excited that 1500(!) kids in Folsom, CA went home last week with copies of "Rescue Me!". It was great to partner with Lakeside Church in this effort. Skits and the book introduced them to Captain Sun, all in the service of introducing them to Jesus, the Hero of Heroes!

If that applies to you, then you probably know that at least some of these cards contain a letter. I think we could call this kind of note an “update letter”; a way of letting you and me know what we missed over the course of the…

GREAT NEW REVIEW of "Rescue Me!":

"Squirt really likes this book. He recognizes Captain Sun - easier than he does the Marvel heroes adorning his walls. He sits still (which is a lot for this kiddo) while we read. He's excited about it!" (Find the whole thing here:

Hero Verse #2

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2) Superheroes are typically defined by their commitment to use their incredible powers to do the right thing. Supervillains do just the opposite. And sin tempts us to do the opposite as well. We so often want to define what is right according to our own rights. While most superheroes just seem to know what is right, we need God's word to show us the way. Only He “weighs the heart”. And…

What's the Difference?

So some of you have asked what the difference is between the “Rescue Me!” standard edition and the “Super Nova” edition. Well, as our dog Toby tries to decide between the two, I’ll mention the first difference is price: the standard is $8.99 at and the “Super Nova” edition is $15.64. Why the difference? Because the “Super Nova” edition is printed on glossy paper at full comic book size, and includes bonus material as well (so it’s a little longer, and of course, more expensive to…
