Greetings and blessings to all!

My name is Wayne Collins, and I have come to love THE LORD! Thru his miracles and his never ending mercy I am discovering all that he has put into me, and where he wants me to go; I believe it was his divine intervention that lead me to CCAS. That said, I wanted to let everyone know about this GREAT PRODUCT that has been produced by an artist in England. His name is SIKU. Some of you may be familiar with his work. He is an ART DIRECTOR for Nickelodeon,…

HI Wayne,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

At Your Service,

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

THis is my new 'mantra', if you will;
"I STRIVE a lifetime
to substantiate the relevance of a moment...
...I am an ARTIST"

Saw your comment to Ivory on her site. I'll throw in my opinion. Having been married for 24 years, I can only answer from a limited perspective. Men are like light switches, we have only an on and off switch. Women are more like dimmers that have degrees of emotional intensities. Their sense of intimacy starts with their emotions, then gradually progress to the physical. Physical not always meaning sex. While men have maybe a couple of needs for satisfaction, hunger, sex, ego and maybe a couple of more. Women have myriad needs for satisfaction. Anywhere from finacial security to having the house clean. So, as men, we need to be aware of this and try to meet their needs on a variety of levels. I hope that gives you a llittle insight.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the praise. You can pick up copies of LTB here:

God has certainly blessed me, that's for sure, but I'm pretty positive he's blessed you as well. :)

At the moment, there's nothing concrete in the realm of movie deals, but lots of people who seem to want to make them happen.

As for Jack, he's working for Panini in the UK doing Action Man: ATOM, and loving every minute of it.

God bless!
Mike

Thank you for the kind words. No, I don't have a web page, as of yet, but one will be born sometime in late spring/early summer. No, I'm not a publisher, but would love to link-up with a studio to put some works out there. How about yourself?

Hello everyone. I am happy to be a part of CCAS. I was brought here via the spirit, because God knew what my soul needed. I am an aspiring artist who wants to break into the field. Though not a 'master' of any one medium, I am constantly attempting to grow in my skill. My main interests include comics, graphic novels, anything animated, and biblical fantasy fiction. If there is any advice any of you could give, I know I would be blessed by your words.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!

Did you know that CCAS has monthly meetings in the Los Angeles area? Contact Eric Jansen for more info!

Also, members of CCAS have produced the APAzine ALPHA-OMEGA for over 25 years!  We have about five openings right now!  Contact Eric Jansen for more info!  (This is a 30-member active-participation-only photocopied magazine for Christian writers and artists who submit a "trib" every other month for fun, fellowship, and critiques by other members.  Between postage and your photocopying costs, you might pay anywhere from $5 to $25 per issue.)

Your current Board of Directors includes Eric Jansen (Secretary,)  and Kevin Yong (Treasurer.)  Both have served as President of the L.A. CCAS chapter.  Kevin is also the Assistant Central Mailer for ALPHA-OMEGA.  Also on the Board are Scott A. Shuford (Vice President) and Geoff Strout (Webmaster.)
