The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011
In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.
Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”
Did you know that CCAS has monthly meetings in the Los Angeles area? Contact Eric Jansen for more info!

Also, members of CCAS have produced the APAzine ALPHA-OMEGA for over 25 years! We have about five openings right now! Contact Eric Jansen for more info! (This is a 30-member active-participation-only photocopied magazine for Christian writers and artists who submit a "trib" every other month for fun, fellowship, and critiques by other members. Between postage and your photocopying costs, you might pay anywhere from $5 to $25 per issue.)
Your current Board of Directors includes Eric Jansen (Secretary,) and Kevin Yong (Treasurer.) Both have served as President of the L.A. CCAS chapter. Kevin is also the Assistant Central Mailer for ALPHA-OMEGA. Also on the Board are Scott A. Shuford (Vice President) and Geoff Strout (Webmaster.)

Hey your drawings are a constant inspiration and lesson in style and composition, thanks for posting.
Interesting...
What is it like for young Christians in Cuba? Are you Catholic or part of a protestant denomination?
I am with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. It's a small denomination, compared to others, but older (about 120 years). I like their direction...more focused on growing people and introducing them to Jesus than getting into all the other things that can distract us...
I have always wanted to go to Cuba. I always felt if it opened up I would want to do ministry there. I need to work on my Spanish though. My wife is Mexican, so I have a good teacher...

Hi Montos!
I'm still working on some things to send to you...
In the meantime, I am simply curious about something: Where does a person in Cuba go on Vacation? Are you allowed to leave the island and travel? Not familiar with that.
I have someone wanting me to plant a church in the Cayman Islands, just south of you. I'm seriously thinking about it...
Let me work something out. I am still working on which projects to do. But I would love to work with you... Let me figure it out.
Are you not doing all 7 issues of intrepid?
Well, one of the things I like is books with a higher page count but simpler pages -- Like fewer panels per page. 6 x 9 is a good page size. See what we are doing at handofthemorningstar.com. Those are toned, but I may just do straight pencils and inks.
I paid $25 - $40 per page on these for pencils and inks, depending on the artist. A different project might go at a different rate, but I am aiming for simpler.
Here is a book I like:

We are looking at doing a line of stories that would have a Christian Worldview, but more widely marketable. Our desire is to do more graphic novels than comic books.
have a great vacation. Love to know your page rates (how much for Pencils and inks). Let's stay in touch.
Love to do some straight black and white work. Do you have any of your own stories?
What are your page rates?
Hey Montos! Any new stuff I can look at? How's work been going for you?
