My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
Was raised in a large loving Christian family. Was baptized on Easter when I was 19. My true walk didn't really happen until my late twenties and then was really tested when parents were terminal and I took care of them. Both went to the Lord at a young age and I married late in life. I have always been an artist since the age of five, but after I married at age 42, my husband and I became traveling evangelists. I did on the spot sketchings and face paintings for income. I am now disabled myself, but still a very busy lady as a pastor's wife and in ministry. I sing at any opportunity and draw and paint in my spare time. Use my skills at the ministry at volunteer at.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...
Beliot - that's not too far away. It's always good to locate another Christian comics person in the area! Maybe we have met before? I've been active at the Minnesota conventions MicroCon and FallCon, with Christian comics tables, the chapel service and the Spiritual Themes in Comics panel discussion.
I'd like to invite you to visit my page.
Welcome to the CCAS. Your will find some very gifted artists on this site. I pray that you make some wonderful connections on this site. Looking forward to knowing more about you. May the Lord of our Savior Jesus Christ richly bless you and your family.
Thanks Scott for you're warm welcome. As soon as I'm feeling better I will update my profile and add some of my work (I have a bad head cold). But I think this site is wonderful and plan to become active. GBU and wonderful job you're doing here!
Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
