My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
Jesus tapped me when I was in a whirlwind. I have been drawing and illustrating since I was little. So it comes naturally. Not knowing how to love another and how to be loved, I realized that I had to go to the creator. SO I dived into his word and find my heart desire.

Discovering who you are is amazing and learning how live the way you were created is even more of an adventure. I have been gifted and commissioned to use my talents (which have always inspired people to have more hope and joy) to be used for the Kingdom of God. What really forced me, was when I ventured to Sierre Leone Africa, on a missions trip and ministered to a village of women and children and men who had been devastated by many years of war. I used the drawings that I created about Jesus helping people from the book of Luke. From there I saw the power of God change people as they gave their lives. It was all through art. Amazing. So, here I am. I am a mommy and artist. Now I have begun a company geared to creating christian entertainment for the little people (kids). In hopes that they may grow to worship the true living God.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I'm actually working on my dream job. Right now, I've started Chi-Nation Studios. It is my dream to draw and create and film christian animated stories and shows for kids.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Mr. Stan Lee, Hayao Miyazak, Natsuki Takaya, Frank Miller

I had a challenge this month, I was hired by a youth minister who use to minister to kids in the church. This was a challenge because she was looking for an illustrator to make the story on her booklets more animated and lively for the little ones. I do a lot of stories and drawings for kids and teens. My over all goal is to give them fesh and creative stories and comics and cartoons that preach the gospel of JESUS. So guess what,, SHe loved them and said that she was blown away by the…

HI Natasha,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

Okay, I am back from a missions trip to Sierre Leone Africa. It was amazing. The preparation for this trip has cost me much, and I am not speaking about financially, well maybe sort of. I had to make the biggest decision of my life concerning this trip. And with much prayer and support, I had to leave my job. They didn't want me to go anyway. Thank God, I chose to go, so much had happened when I was there and I could hear clearer from God. So now you ask, what do I do about a job? Well, I am starting a christian childrens media company. By first giving exposure to the christian comics and animators out in the world. Which should be awesome. Thanks so much for all of your encouraging words. Now it's time for me to get back to work. SEE YA.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!
