Profile Information

Location:
Indiana

Male
Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
I have a drive to create more material that is up to "world standards" as far as quality. I want to draw an interest from many different cultures together and I am awesome at ideas that come full circle, when it comes to things of our father.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
God is awesome. I have had many hardships, but have always counted on God to get me through and he has. I am almost never down in the mouth about much because when we walk with him and in his purpose he will guide us and our live will be much more fulfilling.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
Brainstorming Ideas. Putting together story lines. Unless god bestows a better artistic talent such as rendering ideas better on paper, than the ideas is where it is at for me. The lord has given me many dreams, talents and abilities. The awesome thing is he gives me dreams in story lines. The ideas that have spawned from those dreams will reach many. He will use me as a vessel to get them to reality if I let him, and others will be involved in the process. I feel that the lord brings things across our paths for a time and reason... I just happened to find your website because I was starting to work on my first comic idea... Samson!, but I wanted it with a modern day feel... and things that would really grab the readers attention.
Favorite Comic Creators:
I do not have any Christian Creators to chose from... I used to really be into worldly Comics because the art of it fascinated me. I liked renderings of Michael Turners... I would like the Lord to give me the abilitiy to find my own style.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”
