My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I first believed at the age of 21 (1993). Up until that point, what mattered most was me. Christ turned all that around. First he changed my taste in music. I have been drawing since I was 2 y.o. non-stop, but when I first believed I gave up on drawing because the things I liked the most to draw were monsters tearing up people in to pieces. The more gore the better. I thought I was doing the devil's work. It took a year or two to realize that the gift was actually from God and a tool that I could choose how to use. Getting out of high school I didn't have much support for my art and I didn't see much of a future in it so it was just a hobby. As a christian I began to glorify God more and more. In the early 2000's I began to draw prophetically. Drawing a prophetic drawing in the middle of ministry and then giving it away. The more I did it, the more accurate it got. I still do that. But it wasn't until early 2015 that I made the decision to really go after my dream of becoming a professional illustrator. I found some videos about the comic artists that I admired in the 90's (Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, basically all those guys who teamed up to create Image comics.) In these videos I heard their stories, their beginnings and most importantly, their sketches. I saw I was not so far behind in my talent. That was it. I really upped the practice time to bring my art up several levels in the last year and a half. I want to do Comics, Graphic Novels, Children's books and anything else that God send my way. It's coming. Glory to God!
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
My own comic book title or graphic novel (several), Writer/Artist. Or Co-creator in the story with my art. I probably would even enjoy drawing with a team. I get amazed at the work I myself am able to do. It's awesome, but I also get amazed at what others do (in art). I love working with people that have different styles. It creates synergy.
Favorite Comic Creators:
I've admired Jim Lee, Marc Sylvestri, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Frank Miller (swamp thing stories),
