7 Copies of "The New Crew" Free!

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:00pm 1 Comment

I was looking through my boxes of comics today and found a stash of "The New Crew" comic books. There are 7 new copies up for grabs. I had intended originally to pass them out at a local convention but ended up not going. So, PM me with your snail mail address and I will drop your copy in the mail this week, no…

"The Christian Soldiers" by Joe Ives

This is a fanciful tale about Angels and Aliens told in a Cartoony style that I found very enjoyable. Chris, a slightly conceited angelic warrior and his angelic dog warrior Halo come to earth to assist a young girl Becky. When aliens attack, the seraphic duo repel them through the power of God. I did enjoy this book, with one reservation. I am a little apprehensive about depictions of the Lord Jesus in settings or in the company of characters that…

"By Design" a book by Tony Snipes

Posted on July 29, 2008 at 6:04pm 0 Comments

My copy of "By Design" by Tony Snipes arrived today from LuLu. I love it! But there are a couple of things I should mention first.

When an artist says he's selling a sketchbook, he means a book to sketch in. When an artistically challenged person like me hears a well known artist is selling a sketchbook, I think it's a book full of sketches, ha ha. So I was a bit perplexed by the blank pages, until I understood. Tony wants to interact… Continue

A Christian Comic I'd buy more than once:)

Posted on July 22, 2008 at 3:00am 0 Comments

Hello Everyone!

My blog today is about 'A Christian Comic I'd buy more than once'. An explanation: I try to buy Christian Comics to support the efforts and visions that their creators have been given by God. Nowadays there are more titles than I can afford to keep up with, but I try. Today I will review a comic I would buy more than once.

You've all seen the promotional teasers for our… Continue

My Big Dreams...My Big Mouth

Posted on June 21, 2008 at 2:00am 0 Comments

(This is a scribble drawing I did today.)

I went and did something dumb today. I practically volunteered a friend to do some art without asking him. He's a really good guy, I'll call him 'Mike'. He's really busy, and I have no business dropping his name so casually. *Sigh* I've done the same to Larry sometimes. I just get so excited about the idea of getting all my Christian friends together on projects, but though that was the motive, the… Continue

Thanks, really appreciate the warm welcome. I will let Howard know, we're looking at the movie being completed around the end of April if all goes well. Sorry that I'm so late in getting back with you, I've had some internet trouble and just able to get back online.  I'm up to page 7 for "The Pole" and pg 5 for "Sealed". Will be posting some shots of the pages here on CCAS.  All the comics that are created through Ministry Comics is either in Manga or Fusion styles :D

Thanks for the post. As far as my book I'm actually rewriting it. I will have it published through Amazon (because it's free, and I really don't want to do the foot work again when trying to find a publisher. I did end up self-publishing it.) I will let you know when it is done and out. On the other hand, you can just get the first (0 issue) in February. :D I do like the number three and thing normally happen in threes.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!

Did you know that CCAS has monthly meetings in the Los Angeles area? Contact Eric Jansen for more info!
