Drawing Jesus

Started this discussion. Last reply by Sven Jacobs Oct 28, 2017. 3 Replies

I want to do some comic work involving the teachings of Jesus during his earthly ministry. I really don't want to draw Jesus, lest it becomes a question of what He looked like. So I can pull down a…Continue

Star Wars Question

In episode 3 Aniken Skywalker embraces the dark side of the Force. He says in the final battle, "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy". Which seemed to me is almost a quote from Jesus. At…Continue

My 2016 New Years resolution is to draw a Graphic Novel. I'm looking for that incredible story you have tucked away. Sorry, no up front money, and we will need to work out the details, but it's not…Continue

I don't see anyway to add comments to that category. Perhaps that why it has been so long since the last discussion.Continue

"Jack Chick, in virtue of not wanting to portray the Lord graphically, usually just makes the face devoid of any features. The first few centuries AD had the Lord portrayed via symbols (Jesus fish, etc.)"

"Cool thought question! Who's the target audience? That would guide how happy/funny/serious/dark you make the character. How realistic will the strip be? A more cartoony or abstract strip would allow a wider range of possibilities.  I…"

Drawing Jesus

I want to do some comic work involving the teachings of Jesus during his earthly ministry. I really don't want to draw Jesus, lest it becomes a question of what He looked like. So I can pull down a hoodie that makes him into a dark version. I can draw him from behind, or from a silhouetted profile. What do you think? Have you given much thought in how to represent Jesus graphically?See More

"Rogue left me thinking that people worship the Force. "I am with the Force and the Force is with me."  The Jedi seem to be more an order of priests that have mastered the Force."

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
