So, I have course signups coming up for the spring semester at my college. I want to take another art class, and one that I hear I should take from a lot of artists (famous and not) is a figure…Continue

Cartoon Drawings

I am about to go back to figure drawing, as well as a painting class. So, really, I should be reviewing anatomy and things like that. But what I did instead was check out 30 comic book collections from the library and am drawing pictures from there. :) Working with charcoal is a great way to learn anatomy, but after months of it, I really love working with my Prismacolor colored pencils.See More

Profile Information

Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
I love drawing people, and am an animator-in-progress :) I like to create stories of adventures, heroes, and villains.
When I'm not drawing, chances are I'm probably writing stories that my artwork inspired, or vice versa. I also watch a lot of movies and read books in my spare time.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I grew up in a Christian home, and rededicated myself to God as an adult shortly after I turned 18. Since then it has been a long battle to stand my ground in my faith, and though it has been exhausting some weeks, I am glad I have God to walk with through my trials.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
Media plays a big part in our world, and I have found that I don't really want to do just one thing. Stories form the basis for pretty much anything, whether comics, TV series, or movies. So I am honing my craft in writing. Whatever I create, I would love to create companion works for my ideas. Books, comic books, graphic novels, animated shows and movies. They all are so important to me, I guess I'll just have to do them all ;)
Favorite Comic Creators:
I love the original "Spider-Girl" comics by Tom DeFalco and Pat Oliffe. Superheroes have been a big influence on me, mostly Marvel Comics, but also the Justice League and Batman from DC Comics. I also like some manga, such as "Pokemon Adventures" and "Kitchen Princess", as well as some anime, such as "Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple" and "My Hero Academia".

Ms. Florez, thank you for the compliment, but I have no idea what I am doing. God is in full control of this project. I am just along for the ride. I asked God for just a little story about some Christians who went on a space adventure and then at the end acknowledged God. That was 6 years ago. When God delivers, he really delivers. If you want to go to the R&RJiS web page at www.raeganandrjinspace.com and heck out the amazing art page; if you do a R&RJiS picture for everyone and e-mail me a pdf at our e-mail address I will send you $25 and post it on the web site for kids all over the world can enjoy it. You can draw whatever you want, Raegan and RJ, thiei shuttle, whatever. You can watch the first professional episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynavt6W5fBY at the R&RJiS YouTube channel. GoR&RJiS!! God Bless. Rich Collins

Ty so much!!

Raquel- to answer your question you asked about what medium I used on one of my peices of art,

For medium I do all my work digitally on my iPhone or iPad, this particular one was done on my iPad and the process is starting out in grayscale first and then adding color and effects afterwards, thanks so much;)
