Funny how in the small amount of years we are gifted on this great planet created by our Lord and King, we can mature so much in our spiritual lifes. But that almost begs a rhetoric question within us doesn't it? One we only ask as a rememberaince of what this season is really about. As season tithings and joy fill our time with relatives and our own church families; it can be really easy to lose track of what this season is truely about. As a child I remember how easy it was lose track as…

I have had many thoughts in the past few months of stories I could have wrote, but, I chose not to. They were empty and joyless really, at leat for me. Yet the ideas still kept pouring out. For some reason, my brain really wanted to do a really worldly story, but my heart, knew better, and wanted God to always be apart of my work. Now I am not saying or posting something online that worldly stories are a sin. Because they aren't. God has given many creators amazing stories to tell in comics,…

ok, here it goes. I am looking for an artist to partner up with for a story that was inspired by the testimony of Paul. I wanted to tell a story of what if a Villain with a violent history was transformed through the Holy Spirit and becomes the hero that his city needs. But not just any hero, his most…

I've been super busy with finals this semester. Christmas is going good. How your time off?
Michael P. LaVoice said… Working on converting the first five issue story arc of my comic book into novelized form, as well as recording C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity," and "the Problem of Pain," as well as Brian Jaques' "Redwall," for our church library. We have several older members who have hearing issues and audio books are somewhat popular. I have a background in the voice over industry as well, and finally have my home studio set up. The thing is I have to wait until everyone is in bed to record! Pray I don't get too exhausted!

I am honestly not drawing much lately. I stay so busy with my drum company, I haven't had much free time for anything else. Back when I had the idea for this style of christian comics, etc I was pretty gung-ho. But, no one else really saw that vision I guess. Checked out the site and would love to see what you guys are up to man! I am always up for meeting new people and helping where I can! Just let me know!!
The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011
In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.
Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”
