The Joy of Christ is far better then the corperate joy of Christmas.

Funny how in the small amount of years we are gifted on this great planet created by our Lord and King, we can mature so much in our spiritual lifes. But that almost begs a rhetoric question within us doesn't it? One we only ask as a rememberaince of what this season is really about. As season tithings and joy fill our time with relatives and our own church families; it can be really easy to lose track of what this season is truely about. As a child I remember how easy it was lose track as…See More

Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
I am just a writer who wants to get away from crime novels and just wants to create really good strong Christian moral comics. My writing is more adult themed, only because I know that to attract the audience I want to minister to is by doing more stories like Ted Dekker is the only way to reach them. At the same time bring in stories other Christians are afraid to talk about because of its subject-{pornography addiction, drugs, the black list goes on} because we doing so, it is slowly killing the works of the church. Now some of my stories aren’t Christian on my website and are ones I did for pure entertainment value for myself. My website is not fully up and running yet, but check it any way if you like.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I really don't have one except God takes care and provides for my family. I am no longer the pot smoking reblious teenager but, rather a matuer loving husband and father to be.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
either running a succesful comic company or working for one of the three big boys.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Man this part is hard. Soo many um,...: Mark Miller, Mark Waid,Frank miller, Paul Pope, Ted Dekker,Ed Brubaker the legends of Stan "the man" Lee and Jack kirby, Will Eisner... Trust me this list can go on for days I promise you

The End of "Me"

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 6:45am 0 Comments

I have had many thoughts in the past few months of stories I could have wrote, but, I chose not to. They were empty and joyless really, at leat for me. Yet the ideas still kept pouring out. For some reason, my brain really wanted to do a really worldly story, but my heart, knew better, and wanted God to always be apart of my work. Now I am not saying or posting something online that worldly stories are a sin. Because they aren't. God has given many creators amazing stories to tell in comics,…

RESURRECTION HERO

ok, here it goes. I am looking for an artist to partner up with for a story that was inspired by the testimony of Paul. I wanted to tell a story of what if a Villain with a violent history was transformed through the Holy Spirit and becomes the hero that his city needs. But not just any hero, his most…

Working on converting the first five issue story arc of my comic book into novelized form, as well as recording C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity," and "the Problem of Pain," as well as Brian Jaques' "Redwall," for our church library. We have several older members who have hearing issues and audio books are somewhat popular. I have a background in the voice over industry as well, and finally have my home studio set up. The thing is I have to wait until everyone is in bed to record! Pray I don't get too exhausted!

Thanks for the compliment on my work Phillip.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and even more so appreciate your service to the country.  I think that the subjects you are going to tackle (pornography ,addiction, drugs) will minister to a whole new audience for God's glory!  I'm excited to see what you create.  May God continue to cover you, the rest of the soldiers abroad and your family.

Hey Phillip!

I am honestly not drawing much lately.  I stay so busy with my drum company, I haven't had much free time for anything else.  Back when I had the idea for this style of christian comics, etc I was pretty gung-ho.  But, no one else really saw that vision I guess.  Checked out the site and would love to see what you guys are up to man!  I am always up for meeting new people and helping where I can!  Just let me know!!

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!
