Greetings in His Most Holy Name!

PLEASE don't be personally offended if I don't respond to your Friend Request!
I'm fairly "old school" and don't really feel comfortable with the whole MySpace concept of listing complete strangers as "friends." So, "My Friends" is a list of brothers and sisters I've known a long time, have actually met, and/or with whom I've corresponded enough to feel reasonably acquainted ... but I do look forward to connecting with more folks here in the days ahead as time allows, Lord willing. Thanks for your understanding.

In the meantime, anyone is welcome to follow me as NButlerCOMIX35 on Twitter or COMIX35 and Christian Comics International on Facebook.
-Nate

Artist(s) needed for quarterly Christian comic books...?

I don't normally pass on info such as this without checking out the source first, but I'm a bit pressed for time currently. So, just to be clear, our ministry doesn't have any connection with these folks, and I don't know anything about them other than what is listed below, but it might be worth someone's time here to follow up on this...The following appeared on Twitter from @jenkravt (Jen Kravt)Comic Book Artist(s) Needed: My organization is publishing two quarterly Christian comic books (4…See More

Japan Earthquake

I received this today from the 'Reaching Japanese for Christ' (RJC) Network and thought some of the brothers & sisters here would like the information:March 11, 2011You all are aware of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that has hit Japan’s east coast area. Thank you for praying. All of the friends and church workers that we have heard from are reporting that they are safe. But there are a number of churches, especially in the Sendai area, that are out of contact with the rest of…See More

Hi Nate,

I've spoken with you before. I am the publisher of Kingdom Comics. Awhile back, I was telling you about a youth ministry in the Phillipines. I was supplying our comic books to this ministry on a regular basis. I don't know if you remember that or not, but the reason I am sending you this message is because It is my desire to continue to donate are comic books to ministries all over the world. Knowing what you're involved with, it is my hope that you would be able to stear Kingdom Comics in the right direction. We've long stopped looking to make a profit doing this. Instead, we've been donating are books everywhere from prisons, to youth ministries in Kuwait, to youth ministries locally. However, I feel led of The Lord to really expand this ministry on an even larger international scale. I was hoping you would know any areas that would be willing to recieve our comic books.

Thanks

In Christ!

Thanks for the welcome note. I'm happy to be in the community. One of friends and brother Sola Akinseye is your friend in Cimix35. I look forward to relating more with you. For people like you around, there's still hope for a Christless world. The Lord continue to supply the necessary grace and enablement you need to be His light bearer all over the world. Thanks sir.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!

Did you know that CCAS has monthly meetings in the Los Angeles area? Contact Eric Jansen for more info!

Also, members of CCAS have produced the APAzine ALPHA-OMEGA for over 25 years!  We have about five openings right now!  Contact Eric Jansen for more info!  (This is a 30-member active-participation-only photocopied magazine for Christian writers and artists who submit a "trib" every other month for fun, fellowship, and critiques by other members.  Between postage and your photocopying costs, you might pay anywhere from $5 to $25 per issue.)

Your current Board of Directors includes Eric Jansen (Secretary,)  and Kevin Yong (Treasurer.)  Both have served as President of the L.A. CCAS chapter.  Kevin is also the Assistant Central Mailer for ALPHA-OMEGA.  Also on the Board are Scott A. Shuford (Vice President) and Geoff Strout (Webmaster.)
