Writing, Drumming, Video Gaming. I'm interested in all aspects of creative fiction, and all mediums in which it can be expressed. I write better than I draw, but I don't draw well at all, so I guess that's not saying much.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
God saw fit to impart His grace upon me through Christ. I can be nothing but humbly thankful for His gift to me; The gift of Himself. While I have known Christ since childhood, He is patient to reveal Himself to me more and more through life experience being informed by His word, the Bible. My hope is Christ alone. There is no other Rock upon which I stand, though I admit to failing to recognize Him from time to time, becoming distracted, in my liberty, from looking to the Liberator for all. I rest in Ephesians 2: 8-10..."For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
Writing my own comic, with art by talented artists, in a position to befriend some of the "top" guys and be able to discuss story, meaning, and Christ.
Favorite Comic Creators:
80's-90's Frank Miller, Mike Allred, Mike Baron and Steve Rude, Ed Brubaker, Geoff Johns, Alan Moore, Chuck Dixon, Larry Hama...
Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...
Welcome aboard! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the CCAS Board members. I want to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS!
If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site.
We are looking for someone to serve as the prayer coordinator for the group. We are also looking for writers who would like to interview industry people and write up articles for us. If either of those tug on your heart, then please contact me.
To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.
Can you post or join in a forum discussion topic, post your own blog entry or upload your art or video now? :)
Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
Yes, I've been to Japan. In 2000, spent nearly 6 months while in the Navy. (technically, mostly in the Kanagawa district if that's of interest) I've always had a heart for the Japanese, that's why I'm looking forward to future ministry there. I've yet to take my wife there, you're pretty lucky there.
