Need help with how powers are inherited in my series

I’ve been brainstorming ideas for my series. One of the things I’m working on right now is how powers are inherited. Brianna inherited her powers from her father, but she has a brother who DOES NOT have the same father as her (I haven’t figured out whether he’s a step-sibling or a half-sibling) but does have the same powers. I originally planned for powers in the series to be caused by a random genetic mutation that, while not strictly hereditary, could be passed down to future generations, but…See More

Came up with a new character/ power type

I came up with a new character. Her name is Hazel Fong. She used to work in the research department of the New Eden Police Department, but now she does research for Dalton's cases. She has the power of Selective Extrasensory Hearing (SESH) (that's the best name I could come up with), meaning that she can hear sound fragments from long distances. She can't really control her power and there's no way she'll ever be able to "focus" it, meaning she'll never be able to focus on an individual sound.…See More

Need some help with my comic

I’d like to thank the person who commented on my last post. I’ve decided to use the term “irregular” to describe my superpowered characters. Have other series used this term? I also have a few questions about some other plot points:1. I’m trying to figure out how powers are inherited. My original thought was to have powers caused by a random genetic mutation that COULD be passed down, but wasn’t necessarily hereditary. There would be a different mutation that causes each power set. I’m not sure…See More

Need help with a few plot points

I had an AWESOME time at Amaicon today! It went really well and I saw some amazing cosplays. By far my favorite was an Ace Attorney group cosplay featuring two people dressed up as Phoenix and Edgeworth. Anyway, I've had trouble with several plot points in my comic:1. I need an explanation for how superpowers work and are inherited in the universe the characters live in. I know I want the powers to have a scientific explanation and I know I want them to be heridatary somehow, but I'm not sure…See More

Just a few issues in my comic

So I've run into a problem. I've been using the term "mutant" (after the power-causing mutation) to describe the superpowered characters in my comic, but I found out the same term is used in The X-Men. Do you think this is a problem? If it is, can you please help me come up with a different name? (It took several months for me to come up with "mutant," and no, I don't want to use the term "superhero" because it's generic and my characters are the "not wearing tights" variety of heroes).I've…See More

I'm a newbie artist, so I won't have too much information on that, but I can pray for you if you need it. However, if you're looking for recommendations on good, appropriate manga (Japanese comics) to read, I may have some advice. I also do mixed media, so if you're interested in using collage for backgrounds, I may be able to help you, though I am just learning myself. I also love to hear prayer requests. I'm currently working on a sci-fi/mystery/romance comic with a manga-ish look, so any advice is greatly appreciated.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I was raised in a committed Christian family. I first began to get into anime at the end of eighth grade. Faith has been a slow process because of my Asperger's Syndrome (a form of Autism), but I'm getting there. I believe faith is a journey. From the time you first believe to the time you go to be with our Father in Heaven.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I'd love to be a Christian manga artist.

I need Sunday School advice

Posted on August 16, 2017 at 8:45pm 2 Comments

I can't find a better place to post this, but I need advice pretty soon. I'm teaching Sunday School to a class of kids roughly 1st-6th grade age (I go to a very small church) This Sunday. The lesson is about sacrificial love, and I like to plan my own lessons. I've been reading about how we need to talk about the crucifixion and resurrection other times than just at Easter, and I thought this would be a good opportunity (the curriculum we're using has several Bible story suggestions for each… Continue

Hey! Thanks for checking in. I am planning on doing so tonight or tomorrow, as I've got a lot of free time this week. I want to get some of my drawings as well as the cover of the first issue of my comic that's coming out on Comixology tomorrow. I will connect with or friend you when i make an account (if you're able to do that?)

Thanks for the added info on Paigeeworld. I think I will get on that site. Now that my comic is on a digital imprint, I can't post pages, but I'll at least post the covers for the issues that are coming out (which I'm excited about and think Paigeeworld folks who like Euromanga will appreciate)
