I have a BFA degree in painting but the medium I really like to use is prismacolor colored pencils or markers. Comic illustration and portraits are my areas of interest.I also do Pyrography when time allows.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I came to Christ about 16 years ago. I always had a question about my beliefs before that and realized I wasn't looking in the right places. Since I've become a christian, I've been trying to find ways to use my talents not for my personal gain but use them for an incredible ministry...to bring people to Christ.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I love Marvel and DC comics. I still have so many titles from them but because they are secular companies, they release what will make the most money. This sometimes contains poses or images that I wouldn't put in my comics. I would love to have my own christian comic book company that releases images as similar as can be to secular comics but not offensive or distasteful to God. I want to be just at that line that says "Yeah, God would honor this"!
Favorite Comic Creators:
-Bob Kane (creator of Batman)
-Mike Richardson (creator of The Mask)
-Stan Lee (creator of Spider-man. X-men, Hulk,etc)
Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...
Joe, Welcome to CCAS!! Nice thumbnail portrait. Aways great to have another brother with art interests and talent on the site. Look around, poke through peoples art and blog posts, and make yourself at home.
