Stuff I am working on

Hey, folks. I'm just getting into writing for comic books, and I have several stories and ideas I'd love to share with an eager artist. Here are just a few:

"AKA MONICA DELUNA"
Where does the world's most wanted super-villain go when the great hero War Eagle destroys her lair? Why back home to Iowa, of course. "AKA Monica Deluna" is the story of super-villain who travels to her home town after a staggering defeat to rediscover her roots and the faith of her childhood.

"MORBIDMAN"
Morbidman is a super hero who's power is that every day he lives is the worst day of his life. Along with Everyman, a guy in a suit with a mask and no powers, and their friend Master of the Obvious, they do battle with the evil genius and ideal husband, Dr. Insidious. These stories are told in a series of plays available at www.morbidman.info

"THE UNDESIRABLES"
The Pink Nightmare, ADHD Man, and the Pretty Good Warrior are heroes in a world that does not want them. Having rejected any idea of God or miracles, the world sees them as more of a nuisance - until the city is threatened or loved ones are in peril. Together with a wily liability attorney, they stand ready to save the world and lives - so long as they get a signed waiver first.

Most of my sci-fi and super hero writings, including The Undesirables, are available to read online at www.lunarshuttletickets.com

Martian Queen - The new novel by John Cosper

Posted on February 12, 2010 at 2:12pm 0 Comments

Hey, folks. My new novel is not available on Amazon.com. "Martian Queen" is a throwback to the sword and planet sci-fi stories of John Carter with a modern day twist. Stewart John Jones is a dedicated gamer coasting through life when a strange series of events catapults him across the stars to the future world of Mars. There he discovers a civilization of slackers just like himself, surrounded by deadly bug man and savage mountain men. Stewart enjoys the good life on Mars until the mountain men… Continue

Super-Villain book now in print

Posted on November 30, 2009 at 10:20am 0 Comments

Looks like my last post here was a year ago. The book I wrote about then is now in print - not the pretty, comic book print I had hoped for, but a nice edition nonetheless.

"Demonica: Confessions of a Small Town Super-Villain" is a super-villain Christmas story of love and redemption. Having watched her dreams of world domination be smashed by the mighty hands of her arch-nemesis War Eagle, Demonica escapes to the main land and makes her way across the US to her home town in Iowa, a… Continue

Need an artist!

Posted on December 27, 2008 at 10:56pm 0 Comments

I have a novella that I would like to release before next Christmas, and I'd like to find someone to do some illustrations. I'm looking for 10-12 black and white, single page drawings, plus a color cover. Would gladly pay for the right artist to do the job. The War Eagle character who appears in Super Girlfriend is involved in the story. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS

Hi John, I'm new to this site and I saw your post on Colabs section. A few years ago I really needed a writer to work with but couldn't find one! so I started writing myself and I have a few good ideas already that I'm pretty determined to get something done so it's safe to say I'm not the colab. you're after. but I wanted to encourage you, these ideas look great!! I'll have to read up on your sites and check them out. maybe if you had time one of these days you might be interested in helping me work out the rough edges of one of my short story ideas I've started?

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
