My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I met Jesus as my personal savior and lord at 18 and so began my personal relationship with him. Every day I struggle to seek his face and fight against my flesh. The days of victory are very sweet but my flesh is always scratching and clawing to get what it wants. I will keep trusting and fighting everyday. To God be the glory.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
My dream job would be to travel all over the country and the world taking Frogboy comics and spreading the love of Jesus to people everywhere. Meeting needs and fighting injustice.

Will Eisner, Wally Wood, Sergio Aragones, Nate Piekos, Jamie Hewlett. Don Martin...

old vs new

been a while since I have posted anything, but in a way it is cool because I can go back and see the progression of the art. When I started working on Frogboy I had never created a comic and had trouble drawing and redrawing the character.

Also I wasn't altogether happy with it. I was looking to create a character with an edge who struggles in his faith and obedience and at times questions whether God is even there.

Now I think it is starting to work out

Big news about Frogboy

Hello again. If you read the last entry "This week at kids club" I mentioned the Great Big news about Frogboy.

Well, here it is! You had better sit down and hang on to your hats and all of that. When I first started making Frogboy comics for the Urban Restoration ministry I was a little bit disappointed that we didn't have enough money to print the comics in color. I prayed that someone would step up and donate some extra money for color printing. I didn't think that the kids would respond… Continue

This week at kids club

It is amazing how God works in our lives. I have been blessed to be a part of a great ministry in the city where I live called Urban Restoration. Urban Restoration houses a variety of ministries, all geared towards reaching out to the inner-city.

This past spring a friend of mine who new that I had been working on a comic called Frogboy invited me down to Urban to meet a guy there. He told me they were looking for a mascot to use for the ministry and had been looking for some time. After… Continue

Hey John,

I sent you a message, but wanted to ask you here, what are your plans for Frogboy?  Will it be a print or webcomic?  I love your design and can't wait to read his adventures.  Have a great day

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS

HI John,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

At Your Service,

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

Thanks for the drop-by. South Carolina is nice, a bit slow, but nice. This site is really great for creative types. Good to meet you.
