Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS

Hi,Jesseand God bless.I just joined CCAS recently and just making the rounds to familiarizemyself with all the good talent here. When I saw your work there,I stopped and examined so much of the uninked pencilwork. That's really the stuff that draws my attention and loved it.I've been drawing over 40 years but because I never had any community,my work never developed at the pace it could have so I mostly self-taught.It's good to finally join a community of christian artists and hopefully get the chance to talk shop with some cool people and swap info about the work, the industry and allthings related to comics.Sad to say,but I've never seen my work published but I'm in no hurry. One thing I've learned about God is that He favors people who are ready to receive things in their due season. It's worth waiting for to be in God's timetable, that way you'll never come up short in any good work.I'm glad to see your material is in print and you're up there blessing people with your craft and making a difference.Hope to hear from you soon, stay blessed!!

Hey Everybody:

I was the dreamer who wanted to be an artist/ writer, now I have begun to realize that goal. My first graphic novel (a novel in comic book/illustrated form) is designed for children and anyone else who has an unlimited imagination. I hope to do glory to God and pray I do not fail him.

It is entitled, "The Improbable Barnsy: A Pocket Full of Teeth" and is Christian themed with a whirl wind adventure about love, redemption, forgiveness, and doing the right thing. The style is cartoonish/fantasy, but touches upon real struggles and triumphs that children and adults face all the time. The hero of the story, Barnsy T. Boxcar, is a 4 foot tall pelican who lives in a world of unlimited possiblities.

Created, written, lettered, drawn, and colored by me, Kurt Lewis, and published by Living Word Publications (LWP). Below is the link to where it can be bought as a hardcopy and as a download. It is being published and sold through by I wanted to share this news with everybody, because it was an eight year journey to get here and it was worth it. Many of you had offered encouragement and advice, and for that I thank you. If you would like to see sample pages, they can be found at the lulu site.

Don't worry, I won't keep bugging folks, just ask that people pass on the fantastic news. I PUBLISHED MY BOOK, AND I HOPE PEOPLE BUY IT AND ENJOY IT.

HI Jesse,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

At Your Service,

Scott A. Shuford
CCAS Board Member 2008-2010

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

The San Diego Comic Con is coming up. The dates are 07/24/08 to 07/27/08. We have a table and we're trusting the Lord for a room. If you need a place to crash, you're more than welcome.
