Jeff,

Your work is very impressive!

I am president of a media development company called Clash Creative, Inc. We are looking for Christian creatives who want to use their gifts to serve the Lord (for pay!).

Please check out our web site at http://www.clashcreative.net and get back to me if this piques your interest.

Also, if you know of other Christian creatives, please spread the word. We have some exciting things in the works.

Yeah man you got the idea! You don't have to wait until your comic is done though. If you have any art you would like us to feature, we can make prints and sell em. You want to sell em because people don't want something unless you make it worth something. People don't appreciate stuff unless they have to pay for it. I guess we are all just kind of dumb like that. Besides, you need to see if people would like buying your stuff and if you don't want the money, you can donate it to missions etc. If you don't think you have anything worth selling at this point, no prob, just a suggestion. My vision is to have our concerts rich with cool looking Christian art and culture to where that everywhere you look, you see something cool. Which, by the way, we need art for handouts, posters, signs, stuff projected onto a screen behind us etc. If you want to be associated with our music and ministry and have something you want to put out there, we will find a way to include your work. Anyway, can't wait to see the comic when you are finished with it, keep up the great work! Take it easy man...

Blessings!

Your more than just a decent artist. I used to think I could never be good enough to do panels and tell a story, too. It hasn't been easy but I'm getting better, lol. I hope I am anyways.....^__^
If you ever try your hand at it, I'm sure you'll do better than you think you will.

HI Jeff,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

Thank you Jeff!
I originally started off drawing a manga series, until the concept for my currently comic, Jackket knightmare came along. ^^ I still plan on continuing to add manga sections to each issue of JK!

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!

Did you know that CCAS has monthly meetings in the Los Angeles area? Contact Eric Jansen for more info!

Also, members of CCAS have produced the APAzine ALPHA-OMEGA for over 25 years!  We have about five openings right now!  Contact Eric Jansen for more info!  (This is a 30-member active-participation-only photocopied magazine for Christian writers and artists who submit a "trib" every other month for fun, fellowship, and critiques by other members.  Between postage and your photocopying costs, you might pay anywhere from $5 to $25 per issue.)

Your current Board of Directors includes Eric Jansen (Secretary,)  and Kevin Yong (Treasurer.)  Both have served as President of the L.A. CCAS chapter.  Kevin is also the Assistant Central Mailer for ALPHA-OMEGA.  Also on the Board are Scott A. Shuford (Vice President) and Geoff Strout (Webmaster.)
