Something about Wen

Hi! My name's Favian. I often use the pen name "Wen", which is part of my Chinese name. I come from the little country of Singapore.

I've been drawing for ages, and am currently working in a visual effects company. My dream is to draw for the Lord and use this media to spread His Word. God willing, I'd like to do comics on biographies, stuff with Bible lessons, and maybe a comic Bible too!

I'm always on the lookout for like-minded Christian artists, and am happy to be part of this community!

I just purchased a book and somehow my heart resonates with it with unusual enthusiasm, so much so that I've been posting about it on Facebook and my blogs.

So why not here?

The book I'm talking about is Slave, by John MacArthur. Those of you who are familiar with his works know that he is an expository preacher. In his new book, MacArthur gives us a clear understanding of how first century slavery functioned, and what the apostles meant when they called…

2 Negatives = 1 Positive!

Well, it's been several months since I've graduated, and I'm happily working as a 2D visual effects artist at Double Negative Singapore, the Singapore branch of the biggest Visual Effects studio in Europe! I really thank God for this job. It's got a great friendly and helpful culture, good hours and 10 mins by bus from my home!

Actually I was never planning to go in to visual effects, my specialization in school being concept art. VFX was the last thing on my mind till just a few… Continue

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS

I wish I was there to help you sell your merchandise!! I hope it goes very well and you get Wen's World out to lots of people. Congratulations upon graduating as well. It must be exciting to get that diploma in animation and to explore career options. I'll pray as you walk God's path; if you keep moving, he'll steer you in the right direction. God bless!

lol. sorry if you didn't get my humor about 'when I grow up I wanna be like you'. I really like the manga style you've got going- especially the adults you draw like in
it's a similar vibe to what I've been chasing after - and you've got it down pat :)

HI Favian,

Happy Thanksgiving at least here in the USA! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

At Your Service,

Scott A. Shuford
CCAS Board Member 2008-2010

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
