Web comics…what’s your cadence?

For those of you who publish web comics, how often do you post new pages? Is it daily, weekly, a couple of times per week, etc.?Also, do you just create a new web page and link to it or is there a special “web comic etiquette?”Please provide any other insight/tips that you may have.Thanks!See More

Inking Techniques...

 Just wanted to pool you guys on inking techniques. Do you: 1. Ink directly onto your pencils? or 2. Do you ink over your pencils onto another sheet of paper using light table? or 3. Do you ink on the computer using a tablet? 4. Other? All help/ guidance/suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!See More

Our Daughter Shelby’s Novel – Get your copy now!

Hello all, Shelby loves to read and aspires to write professionally. Last year she told us that she was going to write a novel. The Calling...our graphic novel project

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some information about the graphic novel we’re working on. Currently I’m in the process of penciling page 67. We've launched our website which includes a brief synopsis, character descriptions, pencils sketches, and a blog. Yeah I agree. I thought the first four issues were good too, and by the time the 4th issue ended, I was fully into the story. I also like how after each issue there was a section that talked about the comic's developmental process. Hopefully more issues come out soon. Take care and I look forward to reading your GN.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Also, members of CCAS have produced the APAzine ALPHA-OMEGA for over 25 years!  We have about five openings right now!  Contact Eric Jansen for more info!  (This is a 30-member active-participation-only photocopied magazine for Christian writers and artists who submit a "trib" every other month for fun, fellowship, and critiques by other members.  Between postage and your photocopying costs, you might pay anywhere from $5 to $25 per issue.)

 

Your current Board of Directors includes Eric Jansen (Secretary,)  and Kevin Yong (Treasurer.)  Both have served as President of the L.A. CCAS chapter.  Kevin is also the Assistant Central Mailer for ALPHA-OMEGA.  Also on the Board are Scott A. Shuford (Vice President) and Geoff Strout (Webmaster.)
