I was recently commenting on a fellow artist's webcomic, a black/white manga-style short story; and I got kind of excited as I realized how much it resembled a Chick Tract from the 70's and…Continue

Atomic Robo Webcomic

Atomic Robo Webcomic

Scott Wegener and Brian Clevinger started creating Atomic Robo back in 2007. The comic has great writing and deep character development with a creative Fifties flavor. But for me this is really a go-to comic when I want to draw action figures. It’s tough to describe the art style…chiseled?...but it is so much easier to study action poses on Atomic…

Designing a GospelTract

Posted on October 18, 2019 at 6:30pm 0 Comments

In 2006 illustrator Cedric Hohnstadt created the Gospel tract, "Are you a good person?" based on a presentation by evangelist Ray Comfort.  The design is colorful, eye catching; and the economy of words and line are a thing of beauty.  The site found here:  ; also demonstrates tracts as a cheap way to get your…

Visually Engaging Comics

Posted on September 13, 2019 at 10:26am 0 Comments

Our comics need to be more “Visually engaging,” right?   Cute, horrific, epic, bizarre are like spices that hold your reader page after page. Color helps but plenty of engaging comics are holding their viewers without it. For example:

1) I am not a big fan of “cute” but Robin Dassen’s Twin Dragons, is holding my interest with school-age antics of a pair of young anthro Dragons. Robin does ‘cute’ so well that she mocks it in this 9/9/19 strip:…

Thank you so much, Brien. I just keep chipping away at it. I’m working on the 3rd of 10 commandment comic books. Those comics I posted on here are one page comics based on a scripture. I create those for churches to use in their children’s curriculum.

Thanks Brien,  I like print comics rather than digital since I like to donate them after I read them.  I have purchased superhero and science fiction comics like Batgirl , Captain Marvel, and Blade Runner 2019 from my local comic store and was looking to see what kind of Christian worldview comics there were and did not know if any were sold in regular comic shops.  My local comic shop sells items from the Diamond distributor.

I "sorta" worked it out……I tried an entirely different file, so the problem was in the original file itself, apparently, and I cannot figure out what it is (I'm usually pretty good at "work-arounds").

Anyway: thanks for replying!

Hey, Brien:

I'm trying to upload a photo for my Profile avatar. It's 1.8 Mb, a Photoshop CS1 jpeg, but I keep getting an error. If there's a better place or forum/discussion to ask this question, please re-direct me (I couldn't find a "troubleshooting" forum).

Thanks for accepting me as a member, and for the compliment on my design poster. The photo was taken by my best and oldest friend in the world, whom I've known since 6th Grade: Kevin Parks……also a believer, a designer and illustrator.
