Profile Information

Louisville, KY
Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
Illustrating and writing. Story. Character development.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
My "salvation story" is pretty lame. I didn't do drugs, I didn't live a life of crime and have Jesus come save me in a dark alley while I was homeless and on crack. I grew up in church and was saved at a very young age (6). I, like most males found pornography. I was addicted for many years and God got me out of that sick sin that I still fight to this day (I view it as my personal arch nemesis). I began to take my walk with God seriously when I was in college. I began to study theology and scripture pretty heavily as well as focusing on how it effects culture and how the Christian sub-culture presents Jesus to the world. God has instilled a fierce passion in my life to create stories in this wonderful medium that will reach others for his glory.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
Be a part of building a Christian Comic Book company that focuses on gritty stories which promote the Gospel and reach comic book fans around the world. I want to give comic fans quality Gospel centered books that don't leave you throwing the book down in cheesy disgust. The Gospel isn't cheesy or corny and our job as Christians is to present it as the epic story that it is. I've come across many Christian books/comics/movies that are just BAD quality. My goal as a Christian comic creator is to overcome the cheesy presentation of the Gospel and present it in a way that leaves people (lost and saved alike) in awe of the glory of God.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Frank Miller, Paul Dini, Stan Lee, John Romita Jr., Jim Lee, Neil Adams, Denny O'Neil, Tim Sale, Jeph Loeb, Greg Capullo, Scott Snyder

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...

By the way, I'm totally in support of your dream job. That is definitely what I want to do too.

Don't you dare say your testimony is lame! (By the way, happy birthday. ;) ) Listen, God can free you from your struggles. If you don't believe it, I became porn addict in my early middle school years, but now as a junior I can stand up and say that I am free. Have I fallen from time to time? Yes. Do I get up and keep running? Absolutely. Don't buy into the shame and condemnation lie that the devil is feeding you. The battle is already won, my friend. Don't beat yourself up over your slip-ups. Knowing God and falling in love with him are some of the first steps to freedom. (As well as total abandon and surrender, which doesn't mean be perfect, it means you're going to try, and as you try you'll do it God's way. Don't beat yourself up, don't compare yourself to others standards, know what God says, and believe it. I can't say I could have walked away from away from what I was in if it weren't for the power of God and his love and grace.) No more condemnation, in Jesus name! You gotta get His love, bud. I can now look back on my past without disgust (or cringing, for that matter) I am fully justified, freed and loved by my wonderful savior, not because of anything I've done but because of His wonderful grace and love.

2 Corinthians…ah man I forget which verse. Just look it up, it's towards the end.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness!"

I would look it up if I had time…=P

But seriously dude, you're gonna change the world. No kidding. Don't let Satan's lies hold you back, God's got plans. ;)

(I would know!! :D)

Seriously. =/

I mean it! I was walking in sin, a two faced liar corrupted and dark yet God came to me in love. And I still blew Him off. Then would "try to walk away" and fall, repeatedly. I mean, how could God forgive me over 5 billion times? I was 14, hated the world, hated life, treated plenty of people like dirt. I am now today walking in the power and grace of God. I am weak, but He is strong. God has used me to impact and love broken girls showing them they have value and purpose. Oh, I can't thank God enough! He is my one and only love, my everything. I can't express enough with words how much I am in love with Him and how much I now know peace, love, and joy I've never known my entire life. Please don't give up hope, don't give up on yourself, and don't give up on God. I know where you're coming from, and I've lived under the same condemnation, especially perhaps much more as girl. Know God loves you and has purpose. He is here, right now, with you, guiding and helping you. Open up to Him, he is there. Don't hold back anymore. The initial pain is better than the eternal pain, in this life and the other. I know you know Him, I mean, I knew Him, I just didn't go all the way to the extreme, which most people don't really have to do, but then again, I guess that's what it takes for those of us like us. ;) I just want to say that even though I don't know you…I love you. But not in some creepy romantic way. Like a brotherly love. You has purpose and God has placed value on your life, don't settle for less than everything. I don't know much, but I do know that. God loves you just as you are, even in your sin. Stop listening to the lies of the enemy and hear this truth: you are free. God bless, and hope to hear back from you. :)

Welcome to CCAS, Brian!

Of course, no testimony dedicated to our Lord is lame, even if people won't necessarily make a movie about it.  Look around the site, there's a wide range of talent and styles, and I'm pretty sure you'll find artists and writers that speak to your spirit.  God bless you!
