Just asking what are some of the different techniques for inking comic strips. I have read many different ideas on how, but don't seem to fine the answer I am looking for.

Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
I am a cartoonist. I would like to learn more about cartooning and graphic novels.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
My Testimony isn't as extravagant as some but I was saved at a young age. My parents were missionaries so I spent the first half of my childhood life on the mission field. We were missionaries to Mexico, Tanzania, and Indonesia. But I have been to 4 out of the 7 continents.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I would like to be a cartoonist, graphic novelist, or animator.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Walt Disney is my hero. I have also found inspiration from Gary Larson, Jim Davis, and Scott Adams. I also like the McCoy Brothers of the 'Flying McCoys'.
Also a fan of the Bancroft Brothers, Eric Goldberg, Don Hahn, John Lasseter, Don Bluth, John Pomeroy, and the Nine old men of Disney.

Officially, I post new cartoons on Fridays (which means I post them Thurs. night).

I would say my site is relatively easy to maintain... but I have some experience in webdesign/webmastering so I'm comparing it to sites I've done in the past. I also have a sort of old-school setup. The site is basically all hand coded HTML, CSS and a little PHP. I do the updates by hand with a text editor and a ftp program. Perhaps not the most common way of running a site these days, but I like it.

I hope they help. I remember a time when comic book illustration wasn't considered 'real' art. I had actually enrolled in a Christian school thinking it offered an art program. I became a Christian there but my ambitions were wrecked by the faculty, who thought I could 'do better'. In light of that, it may be as much finding an audience as professionalism. As always, God Bless you and keep at it.

Dear Brian:

Hello again. There are some books I would recommend to you to help develop your talent. "How to Draw comics the Marvel Way" by Stan Lee, "Everything you wanted to know about Cartooning but were afraid to ask" and its sequels by Christopher Hart and the works of Byrne Hogarth. Again, don't give up on your dreams. God Bless You.
