I really liked Chris Claremont. I also liked Marc Silvestri, Frank Miller, John Byrne, and Tex. I haven't followed comics in a good while
I am the publisher of Kingdom Comics. I began this ministry in 1999, as a way to use my passion as a comic book artist, to serve The Lord. I wrote and drew the first publication, which is entitled THE ANOINTED 7. This has been an ongoing series. Since then, I have published several comic books with the assistance of various Christian artists and writers. These titles include, THE LUCIFER CHRONICLES, KID LOMMANDOS, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, an earlier version of Henry Chmielefski's T.E.A., as well as various anthologies. Our anthology GOD,WORKS is geared toward prison ministry, and has found distribution within prisons. Our lates book, CODE: EVOULUTION will be available any day.

Thanks for your update, Brian. As I mentioned to you previously, the areas of the world where I think American-style comics are most likely to be welcomed (in addition to the Philippines) are India and some of the African countries.

Our ministry is involved in helping indigenous people groups to create and use their own comics for their own cultures, so I don't have names of specific ministries for you, but you could Google "Africa missions" or "India missions" and find any number of places to contact directly about your desire to send them free comics.

By the way, whenever I try to access your website I just keep getting an "Address Not Found ... can't find the server" message.

In Christ,
Nate Butler

I give you all the credit in the world. I volunteered one day to go to a max. security site down here in TX, a year or so back and it was truly a scary environment.

I admire the work you are doing in the prisons and creating something specifically for that ministry is wonderful, since my guess would be they really are attracted to that type of literature.

CCAS at Comic-Con

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011

In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.

Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”

Welcome to the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) Online Network!
