My Imaginary Jesus Contest -- win a trip to Portland, Kindle, iPods, etc.
I have a newly released book from Tyndale called Imaginary Jesus, and Tyndale is running a writing/art/video contest with lots of cool prizes. I am bummed that I can't enter it because I'm the author, but I would love to see someone from CCAS get some prizes! Details and entry stuff here at My Imaginary Jesus.

Where are you from Michelle? I could ask my publisher what the possibilities are... Also, you might want to send in your work anyway. Professional editors and art people from the publishing house will be looking at your work and who knows? Maybe something could come out of it?

Michele, I talked to my publisher and I think you should enter. I think they would send you a little gift of some sort, even though you wouldn't be able to get the grand prize trip to Portland. :)

The 'Spirituality in Comics' Panel from San Diego Comic-Con 2011
In comics, movies, and even Broadway musicals like “The Book Of Mormon”, spiritual themed work seems to be unexpectedly coming from the least religious of sources.
Panelists including SERGIO CARIELLO (The Action Bible), RUSSELL DALTON (Marvelous Myths: Marvel Superheroes and Everyday Faith), BUZZ DIXON (Serenity/Hits & Misses), and MIKE SHIELDS (Blue Blazes) discuss how a new generation of comics and pop culture are exploring timeless truths and also address the question “Is Mass Media Our New Church?”
