Christian Comic Arts Society

A Network of Christian Fellowship for Comics Fans, Pros, and Amateurs

My name is James Art Ville. That's my real name. My middle name is Arthur, so "Art" is accurately and conveniently located.

Some think that artists are simply born with the talent they have. Maybe some are. For me, I had to work like crazy. But I enjoyed it the whole time. I started drawing when I was four years old. My inspiration was the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles. Yes, I am a nerd.

In my high school years I almost drew a picture every day. In 2004 I started using the computer with my artwork, and I've never gone back. Today I use a combination of Adobe Photoshop CS 5.5, Corel Painter Essentials Pro 3, and Manga Studio EX 4. I use a Wacom Bambo Fun drawing tablet. I highly recommend one.

I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I work from home, taking on various projects for clients day in and day out. Presently, I working on two projects. The first is a children's book called "Beelzebed", written by best selling author, Bryan Davis.

I have also been commissioned to illustrate Bryan Davis' first book, Raising Dragons, into a 150 page graphic novel. This is my biggest project ever, and it could possibly be the first step into a full career as a professional christian comic artist. I am so grateful for the opportunity. God has blessed me with great talent, and it is my wish to use it to bring Him glory and also to help build up the body of Christ.
